Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray (Bengali: আচার্য্য প্রফুল্ল চন্দ্র রায়; 2 August 1861 – 16 June 1944) was an Indian scientist, chemist and educator. His foundation Bengal Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals was India's first pharmaceutical company. In 1896, Ray published a research paper on Mercurous nitrite which opened made way for a large number of studies and research in the related field.

Ray was a social worker and a philanthropist as well. In 1923 when millions of people of North Bengal lost their home after a devastating flood, Ray organized Bengal Relief Committee and collected 25 lakh rupees for the welfare of the affected people.
